You will all be aware by now that the salon is temporarily closed following the government advice surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. We’d like to thank you all for your understanding and kind messages of support during this time.
Our doors may be closed and treatments off the menu for the moment, however we are still working safely behind the scenes as this photo shows – Libby is continuing her apprenticeship and can be seen here practising her massage routines on her bear with Sarah coaching her via Zoom.

Elsewhere in the business, our webshop is open for home delivery following the social distancing guidelines. We have recently added new products including hair, beauty, aromatherapy and gift ideas. All our salon customers will receive free delivery on orders of £15 or more using the code: 15FPP

Supplier Spotlight
 
This month we’re putting the spotlight on tanning brand, St Tropez. St Tropez is the leading tanning brand chosen by influencers, celebrities, salon professionals and beauty editors alike.

St.Tropez’s products give a natural looking, streak-free tan with their paraben-free, easy-to-apply formulations, each of which contains a natural tanning agent. All tanning products from St Tropez, both those used in the salon for our professional spray tans and those sold for home use are cruelty-free.  The brand also has a range of vegan friendly tanning products.

For home use, St Tropez produce self tan and gradual tan which builds over time. The self tanning products contain a higher concentration of the tanning agent (DHA), which results in a natural looking tan. Their gradual tans contain a lower level of tanning agent than the self tan which gives skin a sun kissed glow which builds with each application.

St Tropez use a 100% natural form of Dihydroxyacetone (also known as DHA) called Vegetan as their tanning agent, this is derived from plant sources including wheat and rapeseed. DHA reacts with the amino acids found in the upper epidermis (the top layer of the skin) and produces a different tones of colouration from yellow to brown. The levels of amino acids vary from person to person which is why we all naturally tan slightly differently in the sun, and the same applies with St Tropez tanning products.

The tanning products are combined with a unique blend of skin conditioning ingredients designed to protect and hydrate skin.

Your Guide to Step by Step Home Tanning

1. St Tropez Body Polisher (£10.00)– exfoliate with special care and attention to drier areas such as the knees and elbows.
2. Select your preferred tanning product.
3. Apply moisturiser to drier areas such as knees, elbows and knuckles.
4. Apply your tanning product as detailed on the packaging. With a product such as the St Tropez Watermelon Infusion Mousse (£31.00)(or any self tan as opposed to gradual tan) use a mitt to apply the product evenly for a streak free finish.
5. If you have applied a gradual tanning product where a mitt is not necessary ensure you wash hands immediately afterwards to remove any leftover product and avoid staining.
TIP: Exfoliating every 3-4 days will ensure a perfect fade and more even appearance to your tan.

A qualified Aromatherapist, Sarah suggests trying Eucalyptus oil ,known for antibacterial properties in the shower and taking advantage of the steam by putting three drops onto a washcloth and leaving it in the shower tray. The vaporised oil will be released into the environment around you as you shower.

Gift Vouchers

In these unprecedented times we have extended the expiry date on all Taylor Made Treatments gift vouchers and cards to 12 months, rather than the usual 6 months to allow you to enjoy a treatment when we are able to reopen the salon doors. In the meantime, gift cards can still be purchased as gifts and delivered as something for loved ones to look forward to in the future, they are also redeemable immediately on our full product selection or hair, beauty and aromatherapy items.

If you have been gifted or issued a third party voucher from a company we partner with such as Groupon, Buy A Gift, Red Letter Days, Treatwell or SpaFinder and you would like to redeem this at the salon when we reopen please contact us on 01280 816101 or email info@taylormade-group.com with the gift card or voucher number in order to do this. If the expiration date is approaching we are (subject to successful redemption) able to issue a 12 month credit voucher to you in replacement and you will still be able to use this at a later date when we reopen.
